AS AN EMPLOYEE YOU ARE AFRAID OF DIGITIZATION
Out of 900 post-war occupations, only a third remain. The trend continues to fall. According to media reports, every second a new job title created by digitization does not yet exist today. However, this does not mean that people who will lose their jobs in the “old analogue” world can be seamlessly integrated into the digital world. The requirements here are so complex and highly specific that they can only be met by proven experts.
Every revolution so far since the invention of the steam engine improved wealth through the creation of new jobs. Now, however, we are heading towards a world of work that will require significantly fewer people in the future than are still employed today. For the first time since industrialization, we have to be prepared that the digital revolution will not create new prosperity. The existing is not only distributed differently, it also manages with significantly fewer people.
In a study by Oxford University, the scientists write that in the next 20 years, almost half of the jobs in the United States will be lost through automation, artificial intelligence and digitalization. A study by the London School of Economics comes to similar results for Germany. According to this, up to 700 professional groups will be affected by this development. You can answer with a simple question whether your job belongs also to there: “Can my job be replaced by a machine?”
In this case, you run the risk of losing your job someday. Because wherever robots and other devices can be used, no people are needed. The robots work 24 hours a day, seven days a week, 365 days a year. They do not get sick, do not need a vacation and do not belong to a trade union or professional association. They work without wages, which is why their acquisition costs pay for themselves quickly. The ongoing operating and maintenance costs are also significantly lower than a monthly salary. That is why the companies cannot avoid following this modern development. If they refused to do so, they would endanger the existence of the company and thus all jobs. So “a few” have to go to stabilize the big picture. If you don’t want to be one of them, you have to act now. If the existing markets will collapse, it will be too late.
